First Solar Sells Project to NextEra, GE After Getting Guarantee

Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- First Solar Inc., the world’s largest maker of thin-film solar panels, sold a 550-megawatt project in California to NextEra Energy Inc. and General Electric Co.

First Solar did not give a price for the deal in a statement today. The U.S. Energy Department announced today a $1.46 billion loan guarantee for the Tempe, Arizona-based company’s Desert Sunlight project.
