Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Hella S. Haasse, the Dutch author of novels including “The Tea Lords,” died yesterday at the age of 93 after a brief illness, her publisher Querido said on its website today.

Born in 1918 in the Dutch East Indies, now Indonesia, Haasse received awards for her work including the 1983 P.C. Hooft Prize and the Dutch Literature Prize of 2004.
