Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Power-station coal prices at Australia’s Newcastle port, an Asian benchmark, dropped 0.7 percent in the week ended today.
Coal prices at the New South Wales port declined to $122.54 a metric ton from $123.42 the previous week, according to the globalCOAL NEWC Index.
Xstrata Plc, the world’s largest exporter of power-station coal, BHP Billiton Ltd. and Rio Tinto Group are among mining companies that ship coal through Newcastle.
