Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Stifel Financial Corp., the St. Louis-based brokerage and investment firm, hired L.J. McKay and Thomas Prior as managing directors for investment banking in an expansion of its financial-sponsors unit.
McKay was head of investor relations and fundraising globally for Quandrangle Group LLC, and Prior was a managing director in the financial-sponsors group at Deutsche Bank AG, Stifel said today in a statement. They will be based in New York and will report to Patrick Keeley and Brad Raymond, co-heads of investment banking.
Stifel said in June it will make a $40 million investment in Miller Buckfire & Co., a New York-based advisory firm, to broaden its restructuring advisory business and to offer its capital markets services to more clients.
McKay and Prior “bring deep client relationships and broad product expertise in all facets of investment banking, including leveraged buyouts, initial public offerings, and strategic advisory,” Victor Nesi, co-head of the institutional group, said in the statement.
