Hong Kong Exchanges Says Afternoon Trading Canceled on Typhoon

September 29, 2011

Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Hong Kong canceled trading on its securities market for the day as Typhoon Nesat swept gale force winds and rain into the city, Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. said in a statement on its website.

The observatory will consider lowering the No. 8 storm signal to a No. 3 strong wind warning, it said in a statement issued at 11:45 a.m. The No. 8 storm signal will “remain in force for most of the time during the day,” according to the statement.
