Peru Stocks: Candente, Maple, Panoro, Relapasa, Southern Copper

Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:10 p.m. New York time.

The Lima General Index fell for the seventh session in eight, losing 3.1 percent to 18,543.93. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index dropped 3.8 percent to 2,344.62.

Copper and zinc miners fell after U.S. stocks dropped and metals slumped in New York and London, said Daniel Romero, an analyst at Lima-based investment fund NC&F Inversiones SA.

Candente Copper Corp. (DNT PE), a Canadian exploration company, plunged 7.6 percent to 98 cents. Rio Cristal Resources Corp. (RCZ PE), a Canadian zinc exploration company, declined 7.1 percent to 13 cents. Panoro Minerals Ltd. (PML PE), a Canadian copper and gold exploration company, fell 7.1 percent to 39 cents. Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO PE), Peru’s biggest copper producer, dropped 5.7 percent to $26.16. Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SA (CVERDEC1 PE), a unit of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., slid 4.5 percent to $34.20 as workers said they will strike tomorrow after wage talks failed.

Fuel refiners dropped after crude futures in New York declined.

Refineria la Pampilla SA (RELAPAC1 PE), a unit of Spain’s Repsol YPF SA known as Relapasa, fell 3.9 percent to 74 centimos. Maple Energy Plc (MPLE PE), the oil and natural gas producer with operations in Peru, retreated 3.9 percent to 99 cents.
