Northam Offers 5.9% Wage Hike; Talks to Resume Oct. 13

Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Northam Platinum Ltd., the South African producer that had a 43-day wage strike last year, offered workers a 5.9 percent pay increase yesterday, a National Union of Mineworkers negotiator said.

The union is demanding 15 percent, Zwelitsha Tantsi said by mobile phone today. Talks will continue on Oct. 13, he said.
