China’s Hog Breeding Is ‘Firmly Bouncing Back,’ Ministry Says

Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- China’s hog herds are “firmly bouncing back,” with the total number of pigs rising for six months and the number of breeding sows rising for four months, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement distributed today before a briefing in Beijing.

The number of pigs to be slaughtered will gradually increase, ensuring supplies of pork, the ministry said in the statement.
