U.S. Stocks Trim Gains Energy, Consumer-Staple Shares Retreat

Sept. 13 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks trimmed gains as declines in energy, consumer-staples and health-care companies tempered an early rally led by financial and industrial shares.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was little changed at 1,161.92 at 11:22 a.m. in New York after rallying as much as 1 percent earlier.
