South Africa’s Rand Extends Decline After U.S. Payroll Data

Sept. 2 (Bloomberg) -- South Africa’s rand extended its decline versus the dollar after data showed employment in the U.S. unexpectedly stagnated in August.

The rand traded 0.2 percent weaker at 7.0105 per dollar as of 2:32 p.m. in Johannesburg, from 7.0017 immediately before the non-farm payrolls data was released.
