September 01, 2011

Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- South Africa’s government will need to spend as much as 107 billion rand ($15.3 billion) over the next 20 years to revitalize the country’s aging commmuter rail fleet, Business Day reported.

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa can’t afford to buy the new coaches and locomotives on its own, the Johannesburg-based newspaper said, citing Chief Executive Officer Lucky Montana.
