Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies’ shares may have unusual moves in European trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose 0.2 percent to 238.05. The Stoxx 50 Index advanced 0.1 percent to 2,259.14. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark measure for nations using the euro, increased 0.3 percent to 2,331.12.
Cie. Maritime Belge SA (CMB BB): The owner of dry-bulk shipping company Bocimar International NV said it spent almost 4.39 million euros buying back 285,000 of its own shares in the period from Aug. 9 through Aug. 17. The shares gained 5.3 percent to 16.59 euros.
Inditex SA (ITX SM): The world’s largest clothing retailer said it will increase labor supervision in Brazil after authorities found 16 workers in irregular conditions at third- party sewing factories. The shares gained 1.9 percent to 60.15 euros.
Telefonica SA (TEF SM): A court ruled that Spain’s biggest company cannot reclaim 3G license costs, the WSJ reported. The shares climbed 1.2 percent to 14.60 euros.
