Mauritius Health Minister Arrested by Anti-Graft Agency

July 22 (Bloomberg) -- Mauritian Health Minister Santi Bai Hanoomanjee was arrested under provisional charges of favoritism in awarding a tender for a hospital, according to court documents.

Hanoomanjee “ensured that all measures were taken and directives given for MedPoint Ltd. to be favored over other bidders,” according to the charge sheet filed in court in Port Louis, the capital, today.

She was arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption, the agency’s spokesman Suresh Ram said. Hanoomanjee was released on bail, according to court documents.
