U.K. Stocks Advance After Bernanke Says Fed Prepared to Repond

July 13 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks gained as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said the central bank is prepared to take additional action, including buying more bonds, if the economy appears to be in danger of stalling.

The FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.4 percent to 5,891.92 at 3:15 p.m. in London, having earlier lost 0.3 percent.
