Brasil Foods to Suspend Perdigao Brand for as Many as 5 Years

July 13 (Bloomberg) -- BRF - Brasil Foods SA, Brazil’s biggest maker of TV dinners and frozen meat products, would have to suspend top brand Perdigao for three to five years for some products under a proposal being considered by Brazil’s antitrust regulator today.

The company also proposed selling some plants and other assets and suspending the use of the Batavo brand for all meat products for four years, Ricardo Ruiz, a commissioner of the regulator known as Cade, said today at a meeting in Brasilia.
