U.S. Stocks Pare Losses as Energy Rally Offsets Factory Report

July 5 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks pared losses as oil’s surge drove energy shares and offset growth in factory orders that trailed economists’ forecasts.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 0.1 percent to 1,337.88 at 11:50 a.m. in New York. Energy companies in the measure advanced 0.6 percent, the most among 10 industries.
