July 5 (Bloomberg) -- Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan nominated Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a managing director at the World Bank, for a cabinet position, Senate President David Mark announced today during proceedings in Abuja, the capital.
Okonjo-Iweala, who was Nigeria’s finance minister between 2003 and 2007, helped Africa’s top oil producer negotiate a $30 billion debt relief from Western creditors in 2005. She will be screened by the Senate tomorrow, Mark said.
