Compal Expects Notebook Shipments to Rise in Second-Half 2011

June 24 (Bloomberg) -- Compal Electronics Inc expects shipments of notebooks in the second half of the year to rise 15 percent to 20 percent compared with the first half, Chairman Rock Hsu said at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting today in Taipei.

Hsu reiterated the company’s full-year forecast of shipping 48 million notebooks, 8 million televisions and 3.8 million tablets this year. China will see the strongest notebook shipment growth during the second half, he said.
