June 16 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner, who’s admitted to sending inappropriate messages and photos of himself to women on the Internet, said he is resigning, removing a political distraction for his fellow Democrats
“I’m here to apologize for the personal mistakes I have made,” Weiner told a news conference in New York. “The distraction that I have created” led him to announce his resignation “so my colleagues can get back to work,” Weiner said.
