Senegal to Use $200 Million Sukuk Proceeds for Budgetary Support

June 15 (Bloomberg) -- Senegal intends to use the proceeds of a $200 million sukuk sale planned for later this year for budgetary support, Abdoulaye Diop, the country’s finance minister, told a conference in Dakar, the country’s capital, today.

Senegal wants to diversify its funding sources to attract money from Islamic countries, he said.
