Euro Rises Amid Prospects ECB’s Trichet Will Signal Rate Rise

June 9 (Bloomberg) -- The euro rose against the yen and dollar on speculation European Central Bank President Jean- Claude Trichet will today signal policy makers are likely to raise interest rates next month.

Europe’s shared currency climbed to 116.90 yen as of 9:49 a.m. in Tokyo from 116.51 yen in New York yesterday. The euro added 0.2 percent to $1.4606.
