Dutch Labor Party Seeks to Postpone ABN Share Sale, Dagblad Says

June 08, 2011

June 8 (Bloomberg) -- The Dutch Labor Party seeks to postpone preparations for a share sale of ABN Amro Group NV, the lender nationalized in 2008, Het Financieele Dagblad reported, citing lawmaker Ed Groot.

Finance Minister Jan Kees de Jager, who plans to start preparations for a sale in 2013, should first let the bank operate without guarantees or capital support from the government, the newspaper cited Groot as saying. Parliament today discusses government stakes in financial firms.
