June 7 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks climbed for a third day, led by gains in Resolution Ltd. and Burberry Group Plc.
The FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.3 percent to 5,878.3 at 8:17 a.m. in London, after falling 0.2 percent earlier.
Resolution gained 2.9 percent to 308.6 pence after announcing plans to buy back 250 million pounds ($410 million)worth of shares.
Burberry rallied 2.9 percent to 1,345 pence after La Tribune reported that French luxury-goods company PPR SA is planning a large acquisition in the high-fashion business.
