U.S. Stock Futures Erase Losses as Apple, Freeport Shares Gain

June 6 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock futures erased losses as Apple Inc. helped lead technology companies higher, while Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. paced gains in commodity producers after analysts advised buying the shares.

Futures on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index expiring this month rose less than 0.1 percent to 1,296.50 at 8:44 a.m. in New York after slumping as much as 0.3 percent earlier. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slipped 1 point, or less than 0.1 percent, to 12,124 after tumbling 40 points earlier.
