Exxaro Resources, Life Healthcare: South African Equity Preview

June 6 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in South Africa. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.

South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index lost 302.12, or 1 percent, to 31,575.65 in Johannesburg, extending its drop in the week to 2.5 percent.

Exxaro Resources Ltd. (EXX SJ): Workers at the South African coal miner may strike after the company decided to go ahead with a plan to fire 300 workers, a labor union said. Exxaro shares increased 20 cents, or 0.1 percent, to 153.95 rand.

Life Healthcare Group Holdings Ltd. (LHC SJ): Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Ltd. said it reduced its holding in Life Healthcare by 5 percent to 103 million shares, representing about 10 percent of voting rights in the company. Life Healthcare shares rose 16 cents, or 1 percent, to 16.75 rand.

Anglo American Plc (AAUKY US) fell 0.4 percent to $24.08. AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU US) advanced 1 percent to $45.44. BHP Billiton Plc (BBL US) dropped 1.5 percent to $75.60. DRDGold Ltd. (DROOY US) declined 3.1 percent to $5. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) slid 0.9 percent to $15.90. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) rose 1.4 percent to $14.15. Impala Platinum Holdings (IMPUY US) dropped 2.6 percent to $27.20. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) was unchanged at $5.33. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) declined 2.1 percent to $51.57.
