U.S. Stocks Pare Losses as Financial Shares Gain; BB&T Advances

June 2 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks pared declines, trimming the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index’s second straight drop, as financial shares reversed their losses.

The S&P 500 fell 0.2 percent to 1,312.12 at 12:57 p.m. in New York after retreating as much as 0.7 percent, posting the biggest two-day decrease since March. Financial shares in the index climbed 0.3 percent after falling 0.6 percent as BB&T Corp. advanced 0.8 percent.
