April 27 (Bloomberg) -- Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo may build a 200 megwatt power plant that will be fueled by methane gas from Lake Kivu, Colette Ruhamya, Rwanda’s minister of state for energy and water, said.
“Officials from both countries are currently working to raise funds for a feasibility study,” she said by phone from Kigali, Rwanda’s capital.
Congo’s Energy Minister Gilbert Tshiongo Tshibinkubula declined to comment when contacted today.
