Dynegy Inc. (DYN:US), a Houston-based power producer, boosted output at a natural-gas-fired generating unit at a Northern California plant.
The company’s 510-megawatt Moss Landing Power Block 2 was operating at full capacity as of 3:15 p.m. today, the California Independent System Operator said in a report.
The unit had idled 260 megawatts, or 51 percent of capacity, at the same time yesterday, a previous report showed.
The facility’s 755.7-megawatt Unit 7 was shut today and yesterday, reports showed.
The Moss generator is part of a 2,500-megawatt, four-unit power facility south of San Francisco in Monterey County, California. One megawatt can power about 800 typical U.S. homes.
