Norway Peace Prize Gets a Record 237 Nominees for 2010

March 10 (Bloomberg) -- Norway said nominations for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize reached a record 237, the largest group of potential winners to be put forward in the award’s history.
Some 38 of the nominations are for organizations and the rest is for individuals, said Geir Lundestad, director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo by phone today. The previous record was 205 last year, he said. No names of individuals or groups were disclosed.
