October 14, 2009

Dynegy Inc. (DYN:US), a Houston-based power producer, returned to service a generating unit in Southern California.

The company’s 222-megawatt South Bay Unit 4 was operating at full capacity as of as of 3:15 p.m. local time today, the California Independent System Operator said in a report.

The unit was shut for planned and unplanned reasons at the same time yesterday according to the previous day’s report.

The generator is part of a natural gas-fired plant with a total capacity of 706 megawatts located south of San Diego in the city of Chula Vista.
