Reliant Energy Inc., a Houston-based power producer, restored generation at a California electricity plant.
The 320-megawatt Etiwanda Generating Station Unit 4 was operating at full capacity as of 3:15 p.m. local time today, the California Independent System Operator said in a power plant- status report.
The natural-gas burning unit was completely idled in a planned shutdown at the same time yesterday. The plant is located east of Los Angeles in Rancho Cucamonga.
One megawatt is enough for 800 typical U.S. homes.
