Dynegy Inc., (DYN:US) a Houston-based power producer, idled some output at one California generating unit.
The company's 510-megawatt Moss Landing Power Block 2 had 40 megawatts curtailed as of 3:15 p.m. today, the California Independent System Operator said in a report on curtailed and non-operational generating units.
The natural gas-fired power plant is south of San Francisco. One megawatt is enough for about 800 typical U.S. homes.
