Dynegy Boosts Output at Moss Landing Power Unit in California

October 17, 2008

Dynegy Inc., (DYN:US) a Houston-based power producer, boosted output at one California generating unit.

The company's 510-megawatt Moss Landing Power Block 2 was operating at full capacity as of 3:15 p.m. today, the California Independent System Operator said in a report on curtailed and non-operational generating units.

The unit had 40 megawatts idled at the same time yesterday.

The 510-megawatt Power Block 1 had 30 megawatts idled today, up from 20 megawatts yesterday, the report showed. The natural gas-fired power plant is south of San Francisco.

One megawatt is enough for about 800 typical U.S. homes.
