CFL's Lucchelli Says Buffett Insurance Offer Is Positive

February 12, 2008

Vanni Lucchelli, chairman of CFL Consulting, comments on Warren Buffett's offer for $800 billion in municipal bonds.

Billionaire investor Buffett said he offered to assume responsibility for the bonds guaranteed by MBIA Inc. (MBI:US), Ambac Financial Group Inc. (ABKFQ:US) and FGIC Corp.

Lucchelli spoke to Bloomberg Television in an interview and his comments were translated from Italian.

``It's an expression of trust. The market can view it as an injection of liquidity in an industry that is under fire. The news is positive. It's an important signal that can be looked at very positively if the offer is successful.''
