The Los Angeles Times, Tribune Co.'s largest newspaper, named John Arthur and John Montorio managing editors.
Arthur, page one editor, will be managing editor for news. Montorio, currently associate editor, was named managing editor for features, the newspaper said today in a statement.
LA Times spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan said in an interview that Arthur and Montorio are replacing Doug Frantz.
Frantz announced his resignation last month as Times' managing editor to become the Middle East bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, the Times reported June 29.
