Meeschaert's Azuelos Comments on Market Outlook and Oil Stocks

January 10, 2007

Yann Azuelos, a fund manager at Meeschaert Asset Management in Paris, comments on the outlook for the equity market and on oil stocks' performance.

Azuelos spoke in an interview today. His comments were translated from French.

On the performance of France's benchmark CAC40 index:

``The CAC declined today but it had been rising in the previous two sessions. There have been few important macroeconomic releases so far, giving an indication of where things are headed. We will have to wait for the first fourth- quarter publications in the U.S. next week, which should be upbeat, orientating the market upward.''

On oil stocks:

``Oil stocks are under pressure because of the decline in oil prices and they have been under pressure for a while.''
