Intuit Inc.
Chief executive officer
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
Harris became CEO in August after running Intuit's tax software division from 1993 to 1996, when he also picked up responsibility for the consumer-finance business. He has driven the company's move to offer personal-finance services via the company's Quicken.com Web site. In an earlier life, he ran business operations at U.S. News & World Report from 1987 to 1991 and then took the post of chief operating officer of ChipSoft. Inc., a tax-preparation software company that was bought by Intuit in 1993.
EXPECTED TO TESTIFY:
Harris isn't a rabid Microsoft hater despite the fact the two companies compete head-to-head in several markets. He'll describe the agreement they reached last year to integrate Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser into Intuit's Quicken personal-finance software. Intuit landed a prime position on the Windows Channel Bar as part of the deal -- which shows how Microsoft brokers the power of the Windows desktop opening screens. But Harris will say Intuit chose Microsoft's browser because it fit his company's needs better than the browser developed by Netscape Communications Corp.
