Monthly hikes in the unemployment rate will slow in a few months, and so should payroll drops. But to stop the rot, the U.S. must generate 100,000 jobs a month, and that's not in sight.it will be a long time before the economy grows fast enough to generate monthly payroll increases of 100,000 or so that are necessary just to halt the rise in the jobless rate.
