Personal Financial Advisor Among The 10 Most Promising Jobs For Recent Grads?

Posted by: Lindsey Gerdes on April 13

Careerbuilder.com just published a list of 10 promising jobs for the class of 2009 (via cnn.com). The list was compiled by looking at the “National Association of Colleges and Employers Job Outlook 2009” survey and the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbooks to see which positions were featured on both. Not only did financial advisor make the cut, but financial analysts also appeared on the list.

I find this a bit confusing because from what I’ve been hearing, these are among the least promising positions (and also hardest to come by) right now because of the turmoil in the financial services industry.

Other jobs on the list include accountant and electrical engineer, both fields that require highly specialized degrees. Where are you still seeing pockets of opportunity?
