The Bodum Bistro Pour Over Coffee Machine dismantles for easy and efficient cleaning. It is also available in red, white, and green Nick Ferrari for Bloomberg Businessweek
The Want: An attractive coffee maker that delivers gourmet brew with one-button, Mr. Coffee convenience, for the caffeinated commuter who has no time to earn a barista certificate.
The Get: The new Bodum Bistro Pour Over Coffee Machine ($249.95, bodum.com), the Danish company’s first electric-drip coffee maker, heats water almost to a boil before distributing it evenly over ground coffee beans using a unique “shower head dispenser.” The machine has a gold-plated stainless steel filter that preserves taste, and the coffee stays hot inside an insulated pot. One casualty of the pour-over revolution? That superfluous hot plate.
