Investors Flee as Greece Erupts in Protests

The three deaths in the Athens demonstrations marked an ugly turn in the battle over Europe's financial future. The demonstrators voiced loud opposition to the austerity measures Greece has to swallow before it receives $141 billion in aid from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund. Spooked by the uncertainty, investors fled Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, and other markets.
