JULY 28, 2003
International -- Corrections & Clarifications

The S&P Emerging Markets Indexes

The S&P Emerging Markets Indexes table within the International Figures of the Week has contained incorrect data for several countries. Market data for Colombia, Greece, Jordan, Pakistan, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe have not been kept up to date since mid-2002. We have now resolved this issue with our information partner, Standard & Poor's (which, like BusinessWeek, is a unit of the McGraw-Hill Cos.). Data for all countries were correct for the issue of July 21, and over the next several weeks, historic corrections will be made to the tables on BusinessWeek Online.
