"The Linux Uprising" (Cover, Mar. 3, 2003)

In "The Linux Uprising," (Cover Story, Mar. 3), it was incorrectly stated that Intel created special chips for the Linux operating system. Instead, Intel created software to make Linux run better on its existing chips. Also, tech companies that use Linux must agree to terms of a license, but do not have to sign it. In addition, software pioneer Richard Stallman's philosophy was mischaracterized. He is not opposed to people making money from selling software.
