"Options are useful--but only if they're used right" (Economic Viewpoint, Aug. 5) incorrectly stated that by expensing stock options, companies might be able to reduce their tax liabilities by lowering reported profits. In fact, expensing options can lower reported profits but it generally has no effect on taxes.

A table with "The Best Global Brands" (Special Report, Aug. 5) wrongly said that Merck & Co.'s painkiller drug Vioxx faces patent expiration. Vioxx' patent runs through 2013.

"Health-insurance scams that will make you sick," (News: Analysis & Commentary, Aug. 26) should have identified Mila Kofman as a former Labor Dept. regulator, not investigator.
