Amdocs
(NYSE: DOX)
UK
The telecom bust has been good to Amdocs. As the telecommunications industry worldwide has consolidated, merged companies often need help sorting out their various systems and boosting customer service—areas where Amdocs excels. And to stay on top of its game, the British company invested $144 million in research and development last year. The investment seems to be paying off: Sales grew by 22% in 2005, and are expected to keep rising as consolidation in the industry continues apace. The company delivered a 15.9% return on equity, helping to drive gains of 37.5% for shareholders in the year ended May 31.
