Cap Gemini

(ENXTPA: CAP)

France

The Paris consulting group Cap Gemini advises corporate clients on smart use of technology and manpower—and now it's practicing what it preaches. The company posted losses from 2002 to 2004 after the tech downturn and the rise of foreign outsourcing took a big bite out of its business, just as it was struggling to digest the acquisition of Ernst & Young's consulting business. But it's now back on track after a painful restructuring that included sending some jobs to India, China, and Eastern Europe. Cap Gemini posted a $181 million profit last year as revenues rose a healthy 12%, to $8.9 billion.
