Tata Consultancy Services
(BSE: TCS)
India
Tata Consulting Services (TCS) is still India's top tech player, and will continue to be so for a while. The company has become aggressive in the past year in doing deals and expanding its geographic reach. In the past six months, TCS has signed several large deals in tech services, the largest being an $847 million, 12-year deal with Britain's Pearl Group for insurance back-office work. It's even doing better than its competitors in its standard service offerings of systems integration at the bottom end and consulting at the high end. And it's growing its employee base. This year alone, TCS will add more than 23,000 new recruits in India and abroad to its existing workforce of 63,000. By then, nearly 6% of TCS's employees will be overseas. And its focus this year will be expanding deeper into Latin America and China. TCS already has over 169 offices worldwide, in 35 countries.
