This global provider of telecom services controlled by Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-Shing has struggled with losses in recent years. But it's counting on growth in mobile telephone services in such markets as India, Thailand, Israel, and Vietnam to power future revenue and profit growth. Hutchison's global base of mobile-phone users rocketed up 62%, to 21.1 million subscribers, as of the end of March vs. the year-ago period. India is a particularly fertile prospect for the company. In January, Hutchison bought India's BPL Mobile Cellular.

Dennis Lui

Chief Executive Officer

Dennis Lui serves as chief executive officer of Hutchison Telecommunications International and is in charge of overall management. Lui serves as an executive director of Hutchison Telecommunications International. He has been an executive director of Hutchison Global Communications Holdings since March, 2004. He first joined Hutchison Whampoa in November, 1986, and was managing director in charge of the mobile telecommunications, fixed-line, multimedia, Internet, and paging businesses in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Macau from January, 1989, until 2000. He rejoined the Hutchison Whampoa Group in May, 2001, as group managing director of Hutchison Telecommunications International. He served as executive deputy chairman of Hutchison Telecommunications Australia. He has been a director of Partner Communications Company since April, 2004, and is chairman of the executive and compensation committees. He has been a director of Hutchison Telecommunications Australia since May, 2001. He has 18 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He graduated in 1974 from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree.
