This Indonesian telecom giant, 51%-owned by the government, is proving a very nimble player. Earnings at the fixed-line and cellular carrier vaulted up 21% to $864 million in 2005. And its mobile-phone unit, Telekomunikasi Selular, is raking-in profits through cheaper call rates and expanded coverage. The company is planning to spend $1.68 billion over the next couple of years to expand its mobile phone unit and fixed line network.
