Kent B. Foster Kent B. Foster has been Chief Executive Officer of Ingram Micro Inc. since March 2000 and its Chairman of the Board since May 2000. Mr. Foster served as President of GTE Corp., a leading telecommunications company with one of the industry’s broadest arrays of products and services from 1995 to 1999 and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from October 1993 until June 1995. He served as President of GTE Telephone Operations Group from January 1989 until June 1995. Since joining GTE in 1970, Mr. Foster served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility throughout the GTE system. Mr. Foster has been a Director of Campbell Soup Co. since 1996, a Director of J C Penney Co. Inc. since 1998 and a Director of Ingram Micro Inc. since March 2000. He has been a Director of New York Life Insurance Company since 1995 and chairs the Board's Governance Committee and Vice Chairman of the Corporate Organization & Compensation Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Foster served as a Director of GTE Corp. since 1992 to 1999. He is a Member of the Board of Governors of the Dallas Symphony Association and a Member of The Dallas Opera Executive Board. Mr. Foster is also a Personal Trustee of the GTE Foundation.
